When does the charter season run?
Charter season on Lake Michigan runs June 1 through October 31.
What are the standard charter windows?
10 AM – 2 PM, 3 – 7 PM, and 8 – 11 PM. Wednesday Fireworks charters run 7 – 10 PM.
Is there a minimum charter length?
Yes — a three-hour minimum. Extra hours can be requested in one-hour increments and are subject to approval. A Limited 2-Hour Charter is available by inquiry.
Which dates are inquiry only?
Premium dates — July 4th, the Air & Water Show, and Memorial & Labor Day weekends — are arranged by inquiry through our concierge.
Rates & Payment
What are the hourly rates?
$350 per hour on weekdays and $425 per hour on weekends. Labor Day Weekend (Sept 4–7, 2026) is priced at a premium holiday rate of $450 per hour.
How does payment work?
A 50% deposit secures your yacht. The balance is charged automatically to your saved payment method 7 days before your charter. Charters booked within 7 days are paid in full at checkout.
Is the captain fee included?
No. Approved captains are shared with you after your deposit, and the captain fee is separate from the charter rate.

31st Street Harbor in Chicago, minutes from downtown.
How many guests can join?
Up to 12 guests, plus your licensed captain onboard.
Is the yacht ever shared?
Never. Every Vertex charter is reserved for one private group at a time.
Can we add the Oversized Lily Pad?
Yes — it's an optional $100 add-on you can select during checkout.
